Jean-Michel CAMUS has been practicing law since December 21st , 1989, the date of his admission to the bar.
He is also the founding partner of his own firm in 1994.
He has a Master degree in General Private Law (BAC + 5), which he obtained at the University of Bordeaux.
Very involved in his profession and in the defence of his clients, he was former president of the Association of Young Lawyers of Charente as well as Secretary of the National Federation of the Association of Young Lawyers.
He was also President of the Charente Bar Association for the years 2007 and 2008.
He is also a former member of the Bar Council of the Charente, a position he held from 2000 to 2011.
Between 2009 and 2016,
he was a member of the Regional Disciplinary Committee of the BORDEAUX Court of Appeal, of which he was elected president on January 1st 2013.
He is also
an approved instructor by the Conseil National des Barreaux (C.N.B.) in civil procedure at first instance and on appeal, in the context of the implementation of electronic procedure.
Since January 1st, 2012, he has been nominated as an
expert to the C.C.B.E. (Consultative Council of European Bars) in the fields of Private International Law, Access to Law, and Family Law.
He participates regularly as a
trainer in numerous conferences, training sessions, or professional and academic events in the field of international law and family law.
His main areas of practice are private law, private international law and business law.
It is important to note that he can practice these subjects in French as well as in English, since he speaks this language fluently.
Jean-Michel CAMUS is a member of the Association of Franco-British Lawyers (AJFB / FBLS).
Jean-Michel CAMUS is also a
member of the I.A.F.L (International Academy of Family Lawyers) since February 2016.
He is also recognized as a
specialist in Family Law since June 2017.
